“100 Films 100 Posters” is an annual film poster exhibition that has been held since 2015 to celebrate Jeonju International Film Festival. For this event, 100 films are selected from the screenings of the year, and 100 graphic designers participate to create each film’s poster. The outputs are exhibited on streets and galleries during the festival. Since the designers have maximum freedom throughout their creative process, free from any commercial pressure and visual clichés, the final posters created are often fresh, vivid, and sometimes surprisingly unfamiliar. “100 Films 100 Posters” is a notable collaboration between the film industry and the graphic design community, which is growing into a unique event drawing passionate responses from audiences as well as filmmakers and designers.
"<Just 6.5>" is an action thriller that set a box office record in Iran. This film showcases the intense pursuit of drug dealer Naser by Detective Samad of the Narcotics Control Unit, right from the beginning, with remarkable speed. While a typical genre film would place the climax in the pursuit and apprehension process to deliver catharsis, this movie takes a different turn around the middle when Samad successfully captures Naser. However, the true essence of the film unfolds from this point onward. The prison where Naser is incarcerated turns into chaos, and even Samad loses control. Similar to the title, which signifies Iran's staggering 6.5 million drug addicts, Samad's endeavor to eradicate drugs from the streets appears to resemble a punishment akin to Sisyphean struggles.
2015년 시작된 영화 포스터 전시 겸 이벤트로 전주국제영화제에서 상영되는 영화 중 100편의 영화를 선정해 100명의 그래픽 디자이너가 각각 영화 포스터를 만들어 내는 행사이다. 그렇게 만들어진 100점의 영화 포스터는 영화제 기간 중 거리, 갤러리에서 전시된다. 이 행사에서 만들어지는 영화 포스터들은, 영화 포스터의 관습과 상업적 압력이 배제된, 영화의 핵심을 그래픽 디자이너가 자유롭게 해석한 것으로 전주국제영화제에서만 볼 수 있는 유일무이한 창작물이라는 특성을 가진다."<Just 6.5>" is an action thriller that set a box office record in Iran. <저스트 6.5>는 이란에서 박스오피스 신기록을 세운 액션스릴러다. 이 영화는 초반부부터 마약 단속반 형사 사마드가 마약범 나세르를 추격하는 모습을 엄청난 속도감으로 보여준다. 일반적인 장르영화라면 추적과 체포 과정을 절정부에 배치해 카타르시스를 배가시키겠지만, 이 영화는 중반쯤에 사마드가 나세르를 붙잡는 데 성공하는 장면을 보여준다. 하지만 영화의 본격 시작은 이때부터다. 나세르가 잡혀 들어간 유치장은 난장판이 되고 사마드조차 통제 불능의 상태가 된다. 이란의 마약 중독자가 650만 명에 달한다는 의미의 제목처럼, 거리에서 마약을 없애려는 사마드의 시도는 시시포스의 형벌을 닮은 듯 보인다.
